Burn Ban for Craig County Cancelled
December 4, 2016
Effective 2 pm today the current Burn Ban for Craig County is cancelled.
The ban was very effective and we wish to thank everyone for your support.
As we cancel this ban I would like to remind everyone that anytime a person burns outdoors (leaf piles, brush piles, field burns, camp fires, burn barrels, etc), state code requires that they first clear the area of flammable material to prevent the fire from spreading, and remain with the fire until it is completely out. Anyone who starts a fire that escapes their control is liable for damages and the costs incurred by fire departments and forestry agencies that contain the fire.
Again, on behalf of the Fire Chiefs and County Administration we appreciate your support.
Jim Cady, Emergency Services Coordinator.
