This Friday, Glenn Smith from the Library of Virginia will be at the Old Brick Hotel to scan Civil War era documents. Because he needs to be in Danville for a similar event on Saturday AM, we are altering our schedule and asking you to come to the hotel before 5:00. Please help spread the word and if there is any problem, call Diane at 864-5004. We will try to accomodate everyone.

This is a great opportunity to preserve material that is fragile and deteriorating. It is also a means to make our local history available to Civil War scholars all over the world.

Remember what Glenn is looking for is original 2-D items from approximately 1859-1867, military, civilian, from any locality. You will leave with your document and instructions on how to access it digitally on the Library’s website.
