The Beyond Off Grid Summit is a live, hands-on training event focused on returning to the old paths of sustainable living, hosted at Barefoot Farms August 13-15 near New Castle in Craig County, Virginia. Join numerous experts and experienced homesteaders to learn the skills needed to survive and thrive with a more self-reliant lifestyle, such as Food Production, Homestead Planning, Raising Animals, Permaculture Design, Water and Woodland Resource Management, Homestead Construction, and much more. This will be a one-of-a-kind training event where you’ll be able to learn directly from experts through live instruction and hands-on application in the context of building and installation projects at Barefoot Farms in the beautiful Sinking Creek Valley, and camp out at the farm with likeminded families.
The Hooked on Fishing Not on Drugs event sponsored by the Dare Program, Department of Game & Inland Fishery, Forest Service and the local Sheriff’s Department will be held this year on May 7th. The event will be held on Barbour’s Creek located on State Route 617 and will be stocked by the Department of Game and Inland Fishery. The event is FREE to all children under the age of 16 years.
