Board Meetings are held in the Courthouse Court Room
All citizens are welcome to attend.
You must call or schedule 10 days prior to the meeting date if you are interested in presenting a Briefing to the Board of Supervisors.
Citizens are always welcome to comment at the meeting during our Hear the Public section, no prior notice need be given to speak during this portion of the meeting.
Craig County Historical Society’s Genealogy Library is stocked with local and family history, back issues of New Castle Records, New Castle High School Year books and cemetery records. Also offering copy machine, internet access and local citizens who know where to look for answers you need.
In addition, browse the Old Brick Hotel and three restored log cabins, located across the street from Craig County Courthouse. Open every Friday afternoon until Thanksgiving. Call or write to make an appointment for additional times.
Ninth District Congressman Morgan Griffith will have a representative to hear citizen comments every month, 10 am to 12 noon every First Tuesday of the Month in the County Administrator’s Office 2nd Floor Conference room at 108 Court Street in New Castle. The public is encouraged to come by. No appointment is necessary.
Meetings are open to the Public
The Board of Supervisors will conduct a brief budget review of the proposed FY 2019-20 Budget for the County of Craig. Following the review there will be a Public Hearing concerning the Budget at 6:00 pm to review the Proposed Tax Rate and And then to Adopt a Resolution Setting the Tax Rate for FY 2019-20
There will be no tax increase for the 2019 year.
Social Services Board Meetings are open to the Public. The meetings are held each month on the 4th Thursday.
The Social Services Office is located at 177 Court Street and their entrance is located at the back of the building. Their offices are on the second floor, an elevator will take you to their offices.
Perennials, shrubs, bulbs, daylillies, lots and lots, locally grown and ready to plant in your yard. Auctioned with finess and some comedy thrown in by Maywood Garden Club member Blue Bell (or Virginia McWhorter??!) The evening will include refreshments and door prizes. Checks and cash.
