The Craig County Transfer Station is for use by Craig County Residents and Property Owners ONLY for their waste disposal needs.

Items Not Accepted: 

  • Hazardous waste
  • Medical waste
  • Pesticide or herbicide Containers – that are not triple rinsed and crushed
  • Liquid waste, used oil, used antifreeze
  • Mounted tires, fees apply to tires (see attendant)
  • Auto Bodies
  • Brush

 

  • Propane tanks
  • Burning or smoldering waste
  • Wet sludges, contaminated soils
  • Dead animals
  • Regulated asbestos containing materials
  • Demo debris, large quantities of construction debris
  • Drums not emptied and properly cleaned

 

Closed Sunday and Major Holidays

(New Years Day , Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve Day and Christmas Day)

Inclement Weather – If the Courthouse and County Offices are closed due to inclement weather the transfer station will be closed also.

8:00 – 6:00 Friday

RECYCLING AT 196 LANDFILL ROAD MAIN STATION ONLY

The current items are recycled at the 196 Landfill location:

Mixed paper

Ferrous and non-ferrous metals including white goods (see attendant)

Auto batteries

Simmonsville Satellite Station Route 42

Located at 5771 Cumberland Gap Road.  Please note that only bagged household trash is accepted at the Rte. 42 site.

HOUSEHOLD TRASH ONLY

Note: Craig County does not provide curbside pick-up of waste items.  There are several independent haulers in the County that provide this service for a fee.
