Request for Cleaning Services
The County of Craig is seeking bids for the Cleaning Services Contract for the following buildings:
County Administration Office: One night per week on Friday
Sheriff’s Office: Two Nights per week on Tuesday and Friday
Court House: Two Nights per week on Tuesday and Friday
Registrar’s Office: One night per week on Friday
Cleaning of the buildings will include empty trash and recycling can, clean windowsills, remove cobwebs, scuff marks and other blemishes as necessary and practical on an ongoing basis. Sanitize and clean bathrooms, cleaning toilets, sweep and/or vacuum floors and vacuum carpets. Clean counter tops and glass partitions. Dust cleared areas of desk and shelving. Sanitize handrails and other areas as needed. Additional services on a as needed basis including but not limited to cleaning windows inside and out, shampoo carpeting, waxing/buffing all tiled floors in Courthouse, Sheriff’s Office, and Administration Building.
Must be able to provide liability insurance and pass criminal background screening.

4. Deputy Sheriff Position
The Craig County Sheriff’s Office is seeking applications for the position of Deputy Sheriff, and Deputy Sheriff/Animal Control. The Craig County Sheriff’s Office, is a full service law enforcement agency. The minimum qualifications to be considered for the position are as follows: 1. Be a citizen of the United States. 2.Be required to undergo a comprehensive background investigation including fingerprint based criminal history records inquires. 3. Have a High School education or have passed the General Educational Development (GED) exam. 4. Possess a valid Virginia driver’s license. 5. Be willing to undergo a physical examination, and psychological testing and drug test, subject to a conditional offer of employment, conducted under the supervision of a licensed physician and psychiatrist. 6. Be at least 21 years of age. 7. Not been convicted of or plead guilty or no contest to a felony or any offense that would be a felony if committed in the Commonwealth of Virginia. 8. Not been convicted of or plead guilty or no contest to any misdemeanor involving moral turpitude, including but not limited to petit larceny, or any offense involving moral turpitude that would be a misdemeanor if committed in the Commonwealth of Virginia. 9. Not been convicted of any Misdemeanor sex Offense in the Commonwealth of Virginia, another State, or the United States. 10. Not been convicted of Domestic Assault under 18.2-57.2, or any offense that would be Domestic Assault under the laws of another State or the United States. 11. Be willing to work all shifts to include weekends and holidays. 12. Pass a Physical Fitness test that requires a timed 1.5 mile run, prior to an offer of appointment. 13. Sign a three year contract as a condition of appointment . 14. Craig County residency required due to on call status. 15. Starting pay is $ 33,475, with an increase to $ 35,001 after one year. 16. One year probationary period from date of appointment. 17. Must meet the requirements to be DCJS certified as a law enforcement officer within one year or be separated from your appointment.

5. Executive Administrative Assistant
We are seeking a talented, pleasant, and energetic person to provide clerical and
administrative support to the County’s Administration Office which includes functions
related to Administration, Finance, Budget Management, Planning, Zoning, Subdivision
Plat Approval, Building Permits/Inspections, Erosion and Sediment Control, and
General duties include receiving calls and callers to the Administration Office, processing
incoming and outgoing mail, attending meetings of the Board of Supervisors, Planning
Commission and Board of Zoning Appeals. Preparing associated meeting minutes for
each, assisting with preparation and distribution of meeting agendas, preparing legal
notices for publication, and mailing to affected property owners. Assist with County
Financial and Budget Management duties. Providing procurement notices and bid
openings as required by the Code of Virginia. Efficient management of all office
equipment, and office supply inventory.
Requires thorough knowledge of standard office practices, procedures, and equipment.
General knowledge of the organization and functions of county government. Knowledge
of financial and budget management best practices. Must be proficient with the English
language, including spelling, have very strong written and verbal communication skills
with the ability to listen, discern, comprehend, and record activities at public meetings
resulting in preparation of accurate and timely meeting minutes. Requires attendance at
The successful candidate must be able to work in a complex, fast-paced environment, and
have the ability to function both independently and as a team player. Must be able to
establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and the general
public. Should possess the equivalent of a High School diploma, Associates Degree
preferred, with at least five years of progressively responsible experience. Salary range is
$41,575 – $50,625 with excellent benefits package.
